What Type Of Window Is Best?
Every type of window will have its own merits for certain situations. Vinyl windows provide the best bang for your buck. They have tubular extruded frames and insulated glass units (or double panes). The glass will also come standard with energy-efficient glass. They are lightweight and easy to install. Being the easiest to manufacture (lead times around 4 weeks) and install makes them easiest on the budget. Fiberglass windows employ many of the same traits as vinyl windows but are a bit more sturdy than the vinyl window.
Thicker and tougher frames make them a little more energy efficient. However, it also makes them a little harder to manufacture (6-8 weeks) and install. You’ll see this reflected in the price tag. They are great windows guaranteed to last you 15-20 years. Lastly, wood windows are going to be your top-shelf products.
Solid wood frames are the most energy efficient but take substantial time to manufacture (8-12 weeks) and install. These windows are heavy-duty and they look amazing. The installation will take multiple days for 3 or more windows. We only recommend these windows if you are willing and able to keep up with their pricey maintenance. Regular paint and stain are a must for these windows.

Should I Choose Single Or Double Pane Windows?
We recommend double-pane windows over single-pane windows. Every. Time.
Insulated glazing (IG) or insulating glass units (IGUs) look like normal windows, but the small space between the two pieces of glass makes all of the difference. That area, (usually filled with air or a gas that's more effective as insulation,) provides a buffer to keep the hot or cold air out of your home. A similar principle keeps your liquids at an ideal temperature in your insulated (think: Yeti) cup. That's why we say that the double-pane windows are so energy efficient.
You’ll want to avoid single-pane windows at all costs unless it’s going into a structure that you don’t live in.
